I thought, "I have never thought of it that way" just like losing a loved one when a person spends a signinficant amout of time with a org. they feel loss when they leave. This grieving and depression is a natural cycle.Michael Cardushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03905049257046481794noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5736213260554827957.post-87886811979555258512009-07-18T05:58:42.131-07:002009-07-18T05:58:42.131-07:00Thanks for your feedback, Ellen. You model that so well, and since it's a rather rare skill in many workplaces, it's great to see it in action!

Reminds us of Einstein's notion that doing things the same way will rarely get you different outcomes. Your sink proves it again:-)

On a lighter note - I "fixed" a sink once by hacking what I thought was metal, discovering it was a plastic pipe, and the saw sliced right through both joints in the bend. Long story short - the sink leaked water like Niagra Falls onto the kitchen floor until I could find the shut off valve. Called the plumber and he fixed it, but had no use for all the tools I purchased to do the job.

You won here Mike - by all counts in your own sink attempts:-). Great post and thanks for the reminder to change directions often in the interest of growth!Ellen Weberhttp://www.brainleadersandlearners.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5736213260554827957.post-28197701246805661142009-06-23T07:11:03.745-07:002009-06-23T07:11:03.745-07:00An interesting and meaningful shift in mission sta...An interesting and meaningful shift in mission statements here, Pete. As I reflected on your words here I found myself especially curious about "lasting legacy," "life after work," and "third shift." I'll be excited to see how you elaborate on this often neglected phase of life. Thanks for the teasers on a fascinating topic!Ellen Weberhttp://www.brainleadersandlearners.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5736213260554827957.post-3636793226896739372009-06-03T08:23:15.930-07:002009-06-03T08:23:15.930-07:00Pete,
